Art, by its nature, is often controversial, sensational, and easily misunderstood—especially outside of its original context or by individuals who are not artists. Therefore, Artsy has a high threshold for restricting the content of artwork that is listed on the Artsy platform. Artwork that violates the law is restricted from the Artsy platform. Artwork that violates critical third party service provider legal terms or celebrates hate and was created with ill intent will be considered for removal by Artsy when such artwork is brought to Artsy’s attention.
If a work does not meet our restricted content policy, our catalog operations team will unpublish the listing and notify you of its removal. In the case of uncertainty, the team may reach out with instructions to amend the listing or request additional information. If the listing is not updated or our team does not receive the information we request, the listing will be unpublished.
In addition, all artwork must meet Artsy’s listing requirements in order to be listed on the Artsy platform. Our Seller's Agreement, Conditions of Sale, and Terms of Use contain the full terms of selling on Artsy.
