Setting up Stripe
Step 1: Connecting a Stripe account
Note: For Europe-based partners, you must have a VAT registration status added to CMS before getting started.
If you've already connected a Stripe account to your Artsy CMS, please skip to Step 2

To begin, click “Connect With Stripe” in the banner at the top of your CMS Dashboard.
You will be automatically redirected to the Stripe platform.
Here, you can create a Stripe account by entering your U.S. or European bank account information. When creating a Stripe account, make sure you have your Social Security Number (for U.S. accounts) and routing numbers on hand.
Per federal and financial regulations, Stripe must collect and verify information on the individuals associated with every US Stripe account. Even when using an Employer Identification Number (EIN) to verify a business, you are still required to provide a Social Security Number (SSN) to verify your identity and whether you are authorised to act on behalf of the business.
If you already have a Stripe account, simply click "Sign in" on the Stripe setup page to connect the account to Artsy CMS.
When you make sales on Artsy and collect funds through the secure checkout selling options, Stripe will direct the funds to the bank entered here.
Once you have entered all necessary information, click “Authorize access to this account.”
You will then be automatically redirected back to Artsy CMS where you will see a message that says “Merchant Account was successfully created.” You now have successfully connected your Stripe account to your Artsy CMS.
Step 2: Add a business address
In order to enable secure checkout on listings, you must enter at least one business address to Artsy CMS.
To add your business address, navigate to Account → Settings → Locations in CMS.
Click “Add a Location” to add a new address. If you wish to update an existing address, click “Edit” on the address to change it.

Select the address type “Business.” Continue to fill out your address in the fields below.
Then, select whether you'd like your business address to be publicly visible on Artsy.
Lastly, click “Save Changes” to confirm your address.
Note: If you have multiple business addresses in CMS (e.g., if you have three gallery locations), please make sure they all have “Business” address type selected so you may select the address for an artwork's "location".
