This article provides more information about how Artsy Shipping works. With Artsy Shipping, we calculate shipping costs for collectors upfront. The collector chooses a shipping option, pays for it, and you’re provided with either a shipping label or collection information from ARTA, our shipping partner.
Note: You will not be able to opt a work into Artsy Shipping once a Make Offer in Inquiry offer has been submitted. To use Artsy Shipping on your order, this option must be added to the listing before the Make Offer in Inquiry offer is received.
Step 1: Upload a work / Update a work with required metadata fields
Add your artwork location, total dimensions with frame, and artwork weight.
Step 2: Select the Artsy Shipping option for Domestic + Rest of World
Step 3: Respond to Your Orders and Offers and Confirm Details
- Before a collector submits an order or offer, they will select a shipping option.
- When the collector submits the order or offer, you will receive an email with the order details which you can also review in the Orders tab in CMS.
Note: The Artsy fee is dependent on which subscription plan you are on.
- Before you confirm the order, you will review the artwork location and add shipping contact information.
Step 4: Ship the Work
Depending on the shipping option that the collector selects, you will receive a shipping label from ARTA with instructions to drop off with a carrier, or ARTA will contact you to coordinate collection of the artwork.
If you printed a shipping label, you will package the artwork and schedule the appropriate carrier to collect it or drop it off at a location convenient for you.
If you received collection information from ARTA, there is no need to package the artwork, as an ARTA representative will come to pack, ship, and insure your artwork.
Note: In certain cases, ARTA may require additional documentation to complete the export filing process. For more information on exports, check out our article on international shipping for US partners and international shipping for the European partners, including Switzerland and Norway.
The order status updates when your shipping label has been scanned or when ARTA collects the order. This triggers a “shipped” email to the collector.
Step 5: Check on the Status of Your Order
Your orders tab will update with descriptive status labels and let you know when the artwork has been delivered.
