Earlier this month, Art Basel and UBS published a first look at COVID-19’s impact on the art industry. Historically one of the top sales channels for galleries, fair sales reportedly plummeted in 2020. Despite this, online sales rose by 27%, and high-net-worth collectors reported that the pandemic significantly increased their interest in collecting art.
In the face of these dramatic changes, the art world is rewriting its calendar for the remainder of 2020. Here’s what to expect:
