Learn how to take a screenshot on your computer or mobile device.
When dealing with technical issues, Artsy may request that you send us a screenshot of your computer to get a better understanding of what you’re experiencing.
You can generally do this with your computer’s built-in features. Below are the steps you can take depending on what operating system you have like Windows or Mac OSX.
Windows
While viewing your site, press “Print Screen” (sometimes seen as “PrtSc”) near the top-right of your keyboard. This takes a screenshot of your whole screen, even if you don’t see it happening. Generally, it will save to your desktop.
Mac
Press ⌘ + Shift + 4. This will display crosshairs. Click and drag to capture the desired area. The screenshot will save to your desktop.
As a note, it is most helpful to take a screenshot of the entire screen if possible.
Mobile Devices
iOS
Press the home button and lock button simultaneously. The lock button is likely on the right side or top of your iPhone. Once the screen has flashed, the screenshot will save to your Photos or Camera Roll
Android (4.0 and above)
Press the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously. Once the screen has flashed, a notification will appear at the top of the screen to access your screenshot.
Send Us the Screenshot
Once you have successfully taken your screenshot, you can send us your screenshot with the paperclip icon toward the bottom of your chat window. It may look something like this:
