This guide will walk you through the basics of adding a new artist to CMS.
Note: Changes made within CMS can take time to process. This change could take 24 hours to appear on Artsy.net.
First, click on the Artists tab in the navigation on the left-hand side of the screen.
The Artists page will display a list of artists in your collection organized alphabetically by last name. To add a new artist, click on the “Add Artist“ button at the top of the page.
A new window will pop up, prompting you to search for the artist you would like to add by typing the name into the search box.
Our system will return the closest match(es) to what you have entered. Artsy has 40,000+ artists in its database so most artists already exist in the system, meaning you can simply select your desired artist from the top matches in the list. Click the “Add” button to add the artist to your CMS.
If the artist’s name is spelled or formatted differently than you would like, please do not add a new artist. Instead, please contact your dedicated Artsy Account Representative to request the changes to the name or contact Partner Support via Live Chat in CMS or by email Partner Support to make your request.
Only use the “add the artist to our system“ link at the bottom of the search window if no match exists. This will open a new window where you can type in the artist’s name and biographical information. The more complete information, the more searchable the artist can be on Artsy. Please verify that spelling, capitalization, and accented characters are all correct before you click the “Save Changes” button.

Please note, an artist added to your CMS will not appear on the front end of Artsy.net until it has at least 1 published artwork OR you have toggled the "Yes" under Representation for the artist.
