Adding Shows to an Artist CV

This guide will walk you through adding an Artist CV in CMS. Gallery partners can now add exhibition histories to an artist’s Artsy page. If you are a fair partner, you will not have access to add information to an artist's CV.

To begin, simply navigate to your artist in CMS, click into the “CV” tab, and use the “Add a show” button.

Why add shows to your artist’s CV?

By adding shows to your artist’s CV, you can boost their discoverability. Early findings indicate that CV information boosts artist profile and artwork page views and helps keep users engaged. Furthermore, adding contextual information increases artist page rankings on Google.

By including an overview of the artist’s career history on artist and artwork pages, you provide Artsy collectors the crucial information they need to make an informed purchase decision. Contextual information empowers collectors to place inquiries with more confidence. The more informed collectors are, the sooner the conversation can move past requests for additional information to discuss a purchase.

How To Add Shows to Artist CVs

To add a show to your artist’s CV, follow these simple steps:

• Navigate to the artist in CMS by searching their name or clicking on “Artists.”
• Click on the CV tab, then the black button “Add show to CV”
• Follow the prompts that will guide you through adding the show and its location, date and details, as well as whether it was a group show or solo show.
• Review input information and hit "Submit"
• The show will then display on the artist’s CV in CMS, and on the artist’s Artsy Profile Page as seen below: 

All Artsy partners who represent an artist’s work on the site contribute to CVs, adding shows and flagging existing information for correction where needed. If you spot an error with an entry, you may “flag” it for edits, or ask that more artists be added to an existing show. To do so, simply hover your cursor over the entry in the “CV” list, and click “Flag this.” Our metadata specialist team reviews each review request for factual accuracy, so please allow time for any edits. You be notified once a request has been reviewed and accepted or not accepted.

Note: Changes made within CMS can take time to process. This change could take 24 hours to appear on Artsy.net.

At this time, there is not a way to upload a CV other than individually by each show.
