This guide will walk you through the basics of filling out critical account information in the Content Management System (CMS).
Getting started on Artsy begins with filling out your Gallery’s critical information on your ‘Account’ page. This information lets collectors browsing on Artsy understand who you are, what your program is about, and why they should follow you.
Step 1: Editing Your "Gallery Info"
The Account tab is accessed on the sidebar menu on the left-hand side of the page. When you hover your mouse over the Account tab, a dropdown menu appears. Click on “Settings.”

In the “Gallery Info” section of this page, you’ll need to confirm or update all the core information about your gallery, including:
- Email address
- Website URL
- Gallery bio and gallery bio (mobile)
- Profile and cover image.
To do so, click “Edit“ on the right side of your screen in this section.

Be sure to click “Save changes” when you’re done.
Use the “Gallery Bio (Mobile)” to provide a short overview of your program for Artsy users. The text entered here will be displayed on the Artsy mobile apps. Use the "Gallery Bio" to offer a fuller picture of your program; this will be displayed on your profile page. These two fields will never appear side by side (because of the different devices), so you may have the same information for each field.
To upload a Gallery Logo, click “Upload Icon” and select a profile picture. The icon should be square-formatted, a JPEG or PNG file, and at least 140 x 140px in size, and without a transparent background. This icon will be visible on your profile page.
Upload a cover image by clicking “Upload Cover Image.” The cover image will be used to represent your gallery/institution through the Artsy site and will also appear on the top of your Gallery Profile Page. The cover image resolution should be 1920x1280 and image size ~600kb.
Note: Images will fill the width of the container, so on larger screens, the top and bottom will be cropped.
Step 2: Setting Your Location
Update your location by clicking on the Locations tab at the top of the ‘Account’ page.
Having a location is critical for using selling options and for uploading your first show. Gallery locations let collectors know where you are physically located and whether that address is permanent or temporary.

Select the address type that best describes your address. The address types are:
- Business (e.g., permanent business location, gallery, warehouse, home office, where your artworks ship from)
- Temporary (e.g., fair, pop-up)
- Other
Continue to fill out your address in the fields. You have the option of having your address viewable by clicking the ‘On/Off’ button. We recommend making this information public so collectors can visit you and feel more confident inquiring about any works you have for sale. If this is not public, then you will not show up on city pages for shows.
Be sure to click “Save changes” when you’re done.
You have now successfully added a new address! Next step to completing your Artsy profile: Upload your first show.
