This article answers some of the most frequently asked questions surrounding Artsy's "Self-Ship" option. Please find details relating to Artsy's shipping partner ARTA here.
What is self-ship?
When a collector opts for the 'Self-Ship' option at checkout, a prepaid shipping label will be sent by Artsy's shipping partner ARTA via email - it will also be available to download within CMS.
Self-ship is Arty's most basic, standard shipping tier. The shipping fees are paid by the collector to Artsy.
Who covers packing for self-ship orders?
If a buyer selects a self-ship option, we kindly ask that the gallery packs and prepares the work for transit.
What if I want to cancel Artsy self-ship to use my own?
At this time, we ask that partners honor the shipping selection that was made upon checkout. Kindly note by changing the shipment agreed to at the time of checkout, the collector may be eligible to cancel their order. We are not able to reimburse galleries see they choose to ship the work on their own. Artsy self-ship includes the below:
-
Insurance for the full value of the artwork
-
Signature requirement at delivery
-
Arts integrated tracking information
-
Automatic qualification for the Artsy Seller and Buyer Guarantees
Though we ask that all artwork locations are accurate upon checkout, if you require an updated label due to an artwork address change, please email orders@artsy.net
What if I find that the shipping cost paid by the collector is too high?
Artsy shipping is still a fairly new feature and we are always looking for ways to improve our process. If you find that a shipping quote is significantly off, please email orders@artsy.net
